The Killers

A similar band to the Kings Of Leon is The Killers. The Killers are an American Grammy-Award nominated and Brit-Award winning rock band from Las Vegas, Nevada, formed in late 2001. Part of the post-punk revival movement, The Killers draw their influences from music styles of the 1980s. The group's debut album, Hot Fuss 2004 brought the band mainstream success. The Killers' second album, Sam's Town, was released in 2006. Their third studio album, Day&Age was released in 2008.

As you can tell by reading this example of the killers lyrics these two bands are very similar in that their lyrics are often about relationships. this is either between friends or romantic relationships. These lyrics are perfectly written for their audience which is teenagers and young adults who's lives often revolve around their friendships and romantic relationships. Both bands are extremely successfull in the mainstream charts and are well known world wide which shows that their method of writing these types of songs is an extremely successful one.

This connection that the band (kings of leon) has found to it's audience is a brilliant example of why they are a perfect band to create a DVD/CD digipak for. Their audience is a massive consumer of media products which means that the digipak will sell a vast amount of copies. The popularity of the band at the moment means that the fan base of this band is also still growing which opens up this product to future sales. This shows further evidence that the band that we have chosen is a very profitable and intelligent choice.
