storyboards for the music video

Storyboards for Kings Of Leon-revelry music video
-Initial story line and camera shot ideas
-created 10th october 2009

These are our initial storyboards that we designed before we started filming. We ensured that we used a very loose storyline so that we could change the story much easier in case there were any problems on the day of filming (which there inevitably will be with any project). Our general story is based on a young adult male who is in a very dark place in his life and is reminiscing about the people that he has lost due to him taking people for granted. We have decided to use sepia for the present action (present day) in the video so that the mood in the video is clear to the audience and so that the past action ; his memories (which are in colour) can be clearly differentiated between so that the storyline is clear and can be followed without conclusion.

We have decided that in order for us to link the past to the present, we need to have the character visiting the scene of the memories where he re-visits the past and use fades to bring him back to the present abruptly to sybolise how easily things in life can change; especially for a teenager in todays society. Our storyline is perfect for today's teenagers because as i said in an earlier post, it is one of the most realistic and true to teenage life stories that there is in the pop charts at the moment.

Fans of Kings Of Leon will watch the video and believe that the video is very true to the bands previous music videos that they have released and is easily identifiable as a Kings Of Leon video. From the video's that i have analysed, I strongly believe that i have followed the codes and conventions of a traditional Kings Of Leon video when designing the storyboards for the music video and making sure that fans of the band will watch the video and be able to enjoy the video that we will produce and fit with what they see when listening to this song.
