We took a lot of inspiration from the lyrics when we were deciding how to produce our video. As you can see from an earlier blog that i posted containing the lyrics to the song, the lyrics are about loss and realising the mistakes you have made.

We have also decided that at the end of the video, because the song is quite downbeat, we need a happy ending to give closure to the audience. We initially thought about the main character dieing at the end of the video but because a lot of our audience will be able to relate to the storyline, we didnt want to be too morbid and thought that an optimistic end would encourage people that it is possible to redeem yourself after making mistakes.

We are also thinking about using a real life couple in the music video so that there is real history and chemistry between them so that the acting flows and looks natural between them. Who plays the role of the couple is essential to the storyline and needs to be as realstic as possible.

Along with the storyline, we are using band performance shots to divide the narrative up and to also ensure that the audience does not loose interest. Performance shots are also essential as in nearly all Kings Of Leon videos include performance shots of the band so that the audience can identify that this is a Kings Of Leon song.
